Sightseeing

Last weekend (May 7-8), we had so much walking along “Naviglio” canal in Milan, Italy. There was an event called “Arte sul Naviglio”, which was an open show (and market)… illustrated different paintings from artists mainly in Milano. It was fun… the weather was nice, bright and shine… wish we could have enjoyed more than just a weekend!

Easter is coming… it’s time to shop for chocolate eggs. As an Italian tradition, people exchange eggs on Easter Sunday. We can see them all over the cities… supermarkets, bakery shops, bread shops, department stores, etc.

April 12-17, 2011, Milan hosted an annual event, Public Design Festival. It is one of the public events that dedicated to public design and urban space. There were several projects, meetings, workshops and international contest all around major streets in Milan; such as, Corso Garibaldi, Lambrate, Porta Romana, Via Tortona, San Babila, etc.

We went out on Saturday, April 16th, the weather was nice… sunny and breezy… perfect for a long walk. Let’s see some pictures from this event.

We had such a great time… this event was so hip, so cool… not very often that we could find many exhibitions of designs all together.

This is one of the annual events in Milan, “Fiori e Sapori” 2011 (Flowers and Taste) was held along Navigli Grand Canal (Milan, Italy), on April 10th. We had an opportunity to go and see all the beautiful flowers… the colors are amazing! I couldn’t get enough of them!

Saturday afternoon (April 9th), we went out with friends for “Aperitivo” (Aperitif = drinks and some finger food), near Parco Sempione. It was such a nice day in Milan!

Despicable Me, the Italian title is “ Cattivissimo Me” (Cattivissimo = The most evil). Got to love this film!

It has been bright and shine throughout the week in Milan, ItalyEaster is approaching, we start seeing all kinds of chocolate eggs, bunnies, etc., around the town. Last week at Piazza dei Mercanti, there was an open market… not just an ordinary one… it is a chocolate open market!

Last week, I had a chance to go visit friends in Budapest, Hungary. It was such a great time! We were there during the National Holiday, March 15th. The weather was very warm, people came out to celebrate the Independence day of Hungary. We saw many traditional costume and dance! Amazing!

It is a bread roll with different kind of flavors such as cinnamons, coconut, etc. Also there is a classic one, without flavor… so fresh, so good!

We really enjoyed our time there… I will definitely go back again…what an awesome city — Budapest, Hungary!

Carnevale Ambrosiano 2011

 

Carnival in Milan, Italy, has already started, March 10-12th. It is called “Carnevale Ambrosiano”. These are pictures around the town… let’s see what’s going on during carnival week. Enjoy!
